Advantages
- Easy to untie after being loaded.
- Easy to check.
These are the steps to tie a flat overhand:
-Start with two ends of rope
-Make a loop with the rope with 1 foot of tail
-Pass the ends of the rope through the backside of the loop
-Pull each strand individually against the knot so that it is tight and all strands are parallel
*This knot must be well dressed and have parallel strands to be a fully functioning knot
